Dear Baby {24 weeks}

Dear baby, oh sweet and precious child,

I am now twenty-four weeks pregnant with you, which means I really am over half way to meeting you. But already there is so much to be known about you.  As your momma, I feel like I know your temperament and personality. You are active and you are strong. I felt your kicks early and now I feel them often. In some moments you are kicking and flipping so much that I literally have to stop. You are making me slow down, already wise beyond your years. I think you are going to be a jokester and a reader.

You have an incredible big brother who loves you dearly. He sings to you, rubs my belly and calls you brother, usually while giving you a good swift poke. He asks about you almost every day. You two are going to have so much fun together. This past weekend, I was telling Behr about the frozen yogurt dates we would have once I am home with him and then it hit me, you are going to be with us too! You are going to be part of our adventures, our snuggles. Both of my hands will soon be filled, as your brother tries to run, and you learn to waddle, each along side of me.

When I think of the promises the Lord has for you, I am overwhelmed with joy. The Lord has knit you in my womb, He knows the hairs on your head, the wrinkles in your fingers, and shape of your toes. But more importantly he knows the plans he has for you.

I am a momma of boys and you are my sons. As I think about what it means to be a momma of boys, this promise the Lord brings the most comfort. He knows the plans he has for you. He knows the wild, the adventure and even the danger, and knows the purpose they will have in your life.

He knows.

Love,
momma
(and Dad and big brother Behr too!)
