Off a busy road, nestled beside a commercial mega-store shopping center, a small wooden sign marks the entrance to a gravel drive. Between wooden clad buildings and barns, you step into a serene environment of Terrain at Styer's Garden Store. Boxwoods guide you into the garden where what appeared to be a small shop opens into room after room of green house and connected structures.
Tables overflow with signs to see and touch. It is certainly an experience.
Never before have I fully appreciated the phrase, "like a kid in a candy store," but at Styer's I wanted to pick up and touch and feel everything. Actually, I simply wanted to move in. As we wound our way through the tables and displays to the garden cafe, I realized that I need to go a hundred times to soak in all that the store has to offer. And then a hundred more to continue to seek inspiration and creative refreshment. If you find yourself anywhere near Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania, be sure plan a trip, maybe an entire afternoon. And don't forget to make a reservation if you plan to dine. The food was so delicious, it was gone before we captured any photos. You will have to trust me on this one!
Where do you go for inspiration or to refresh?
